Greenspace makes some moves
Greenspace has acquired more property in Portland, Oregon, the company's seventh investment in Oregon, all of which are 100% leased to cannabis growers, processors and/or dispensary operators. The newest addition to the Greenspace portfolio is a 40,000 square foot warehouse that will be home to two growers and one dispensary operator - Premium Medicine of Oregon. Greenspace is currently under contract on an eighth property in Portland and is pursuing several other properties in Oregon and throughout the U.S. And, this is interesting: The majority of Greenspace's portfolio has been acquired through their unique "Buy-To-Suit Program" whereby Greenspace identifies, acquires and leases properties that suit the needs of qualified cannabis businesses. Thereafter Greenspace strictly functions as a landlord, and does not participate in the financial interests of their tenants.
Crossing the border
Medical Marijuana, Inc. has announced that Mexico's government has approved 22 additional import permits for Real Scientific Hemp Oil-X (RSHO-X), expanding the company's foothold into a market projected to eventually reach $10-12 billion annually. In February, the government of Mexico issued two of the country's first permits to import Medical Marijuana, Inc.'s cannabidiol (CBD) product RSHO-X into the country to help two children suffering from severe forms of epilepsy. Since the first import permits were issued, the Mexico government has granted 22 additional permits to treat mostly adolescents in the country suffering from epilepsy. "With its more than 120 million residents, Mexico represents a potentially vast market for Medical Marijuana, Inc.," the Company's CEO Dr. Stuart Titus said.
Green tech of the week: Potbot
Patients who are recommended medical marijuana are given very little information on the different strains available to them on the market. Enter PotBot, a medical marijuana recommendation engine that guides patients to the appropriate cannabinoid levels, medical cannabis strains, and consumption methods for their specific ailment. Once a medical cannabis recommendation is calculated, PotBot helps patients find their recommended cannabis at a nearby dispensary or set up an appointment with a licensed medical cannabis clinic. Accessible via dedicated kiosks, mobile app, and desktop app, PotBot utilizes a database of strains, cannabinoids, and medicinal applications aggregated through semantic web technology and validated by medical devices in research centers around the world.
New polls = broad support for legalization
MassRoots, Inc., has announced that recent polling by the Marijuana Policy Project shows broad support for legalization in several key states expected to vote on cannabis regulation this fall. An April 2016 report from ArcView Market Research and New Frontier Financial projects that at least five of these initiatives (CA, FL, NV, MA an ME) will pass, which would cause the regulated cannabis industry to grow from $5.7 billion in 2015 to $23.1 billion in 2020. "Elections have the ability to create new markets, reshape economies and change the course of history," stated MassRoots CEOIsaac Dietrich. "We believe 2016 will be a watershed moment in which states with close to 30% of the American population could vote to regulate the production and sale of cannabis."
