Compliant packaging
House of Jane, a not-for-profit corporation in cannabis-infused beverages, announced its first fully compliant packaging for bottled beverages in the medical cannabis market. The sleek, opaque black glass bottle has a tamper proof, child resistant safety cap and AB266 compliant labeling. "Pharmaceutical type packaging has emerged as an important safety issue in California as it relates to medical cannabis," says Ben-David Sheppard, CEO of House of Jane. "House of Jane wanted to meet it head on, creating the most effective re-sealable child proof packaging for bottled beverages on the market.

Raking the money in, even with hurdles
Retail marijuana sales in the United States are "expected to be $4.5 billion this year, but constant changes in state regulations are creating hurdles for business people trying to make money off pot." According to this post, "100,000 people are directly and indirectly employed in the industry, and 80 to 90 percent of companies are profitable."

Get Smart(er)
Marijuana Company of America (MCOA) has entered into an agreement with Cannabis Career Institute (CCI) to jointly develop a suite of online cannabis education curriculum that will extend CCI's successful brick and mortar classes to a much larger demographic of consumers online, both nationally and internationally. This online platform will give consumers who are unable to attend brick and mortar classes the opportunity to participate remotely at their own pace, from anywhere in the world.

Green tech of the week: Elevator
As medical marijuana becomes both more socially acceptable and available, a growing number of people are looking to learn more about its benefits - but the search for reliable and timely information is not always easy. To help address this, Vancouver-based Lift Cannabis Co. has developed the world's first cannabis-specific chatbot. Elevator is a text-based artificial intelligence (AI) app that enables individuals to ask questions and get instant answers. Elevator provides a more personalized way to help consumers learn about cannabis, locate a doctor, find the right strain for their condition, and even walk them through the purchase process, all via a simple and familiar chat interface.
